This piece brings to life the breathtaking beauty of the remote Hawkdun Ranges, here in Central Otago
The scene is bathed in the soft glow of afternoon light, with the snow-cloaked Hawkdun Ranges standing majestically in the background under a clear, cloudless, winter sky. An old corrugated iron fishing hut anchors the foreground, while a smaller hut and hay bales in the middle ground hint at lives lived in this remote place. With this piece I wanted to convey a sense of calmness and solitude, inviting the viewer to pause and breathe-in the stillness of this timeless landscape.
Specifics: watercolour on 640gsm cotton rag, unframed.
Size: 760 x 560mm.
