It was such a privelege to be asked by the owner of the Cardrona Hotel to paint this iconic building. Loved by locals and tourists alike, this must be one of the most photographed buildings in New Zealand, with a history dating back to 1863. There was a certain amount of pressure to get this painting just right, as I knew it would be adorning the wall of the restaurant. I'm so happy with the result and it now has pride of place above the mantlepiece on the gallery wall.
