I love painting Black Peak. It's one of my favourite local mountains to paint and I'm lucky enough to look out at it everyday from my studio here in Wānaka. Here I have captured it in the early afternoon, when the sunshine hits the snow at the perfect angle to create all those beautiful icy blue shadows.

This original painting is watercolour on 600gsm cotton rag, framed in beautiful light-toned natural oak with UV protective glass.
